When it comes to music, drama, audio recording, music business and screenwriting, Montreat College provides summer camp training from an excellent faculty who are committed to a Christ-centered approach to education. Whether your interest is music, theatre, or other fine arts – feed your passion. 

 

Montreat College Summer Music and Fine Arts Camp is open to middle school and high school age students who are interested in developing or honing their music, theatre, screenwriting, audio recording, music business, or fine arts skills. The camp will take place on July 7-13, 2013 in the beautiful mountain cove of Montreat, North Carolina, at Montreat College’s campus. Each session is taught by esteemed, Christ-centered Montreat faculty from the Communication and Music Departments. Students are welcome to join us on campus or attend sessions as a day student. 

 

 

 

The Program

  • Sessions are led by Montreat faculty – each member is a recognized professional in their field
  • Students will have more than 45 hours of contact with Montreat faculty
  • Choose an emphasis in music, drama, or audio recording and music business
  • Option to earn three hours of college credit for students 16 and older for an additional $50 and extra assignments
  • Experience a Christ-centered approach to music and fine arts training

Entrance Requirements

  • Completion of an online application
  • Payment of a non-refundable deposit of $100 with balance due at check-in
  • Preparation of an audition or materials to be presented after check-in
    • for musicians: a memorized 3-minute solo for voice, piano, guitar, or percussion
    • for actors: a memorized 2-minute monologue
    • for writers: a written 10-minute screenplay
    • for audio production and music business students: a one page resume listing your previous experience – or – a one page essay describing why you are interested in learning about music business and recording technology
