Perspectives about Montreat College...
Philip Spence
My name is Philip Spence and I’m from Northern Ireland. This is my second full year at Montreat College. I first heard of Montreat College back in January of 2009 after getting accepted into an exchange program to come to college in America for a year. I felt a pull to come to Montreat, and it stood out among all of the rest of schools I could choose from. It appealed to me because of what the school stood for: Christ-centeredness. I had a longing to be part of an environment that equipped me and helped me to grow and mature in faith in Jesus Christ. He brought me here to Montreat to carry that out. I arrived at Montreat College in August 2009 to commence the Fall Semester, and it didn’t take me long to fall in love with everything that Montreat is. I immediately felt at home, I thank God for that. I became part of the soccer team here at Montreat and got involved with other activities at the school, as I had decided to make the most of this blessing. God opened the door and paved the way for me to remain here at Montreat beyond a year to carry out my studies, now as a Bible & Religion major with a Cross Cultural Ministries concentration.
