The first signing will be on September 14th at 3 p.m., in the L. Nelson Bell Library on the Montreat College campus. The second will be on October 3rd at 1 p.m., at Black Mountain Books on 103 Cherry Street in downtown Black Mountain. Both events are free, and open to the public.
Dr. King has taught a variety of English and literature classes at Montreat College over the last 30 years, and has published a wide repertoire of books, many of them about the famed Christian author C.S. Lewis. His latest work, “Out of My Bone,” tells of the life of Lewis’ wife, Joy Davidman, in her own words via a compilation of numerous letters she had written, as well as through her autobiographical essay, “The Longest Way Around.” Many of these letters have never been published, and they shed a lot of light on the life and mind of the wife of one of Christian literature’s most well known figures.
