President Dan Struble accepted the contribution on behalf of the college and was appreciative of BB&T’s support, saying “Montreat College greatly appreciates BB&T Charitable Foundation’s generous pledge for the purchase and installation of an electronic document imaging system. This system will help us improve efficiency and thus better serve our students in providing a quality, Christ-centered education.” Michael J. Willett, Regional President of the Western Region of BB&T, said, “BB&T is proud to be associated with and supportive of Montreat College. We have noted the growth and momentum the college is creating locally and throughout the Southeast. We share many of the same values and both institutions have a strong commitment to service for our constituents and our communities. We are pleased to be in a position to financially support Montreat College through our financial contributions.” Rodney A. Hughes, BB&T’s Executive Director, further signaled his institution’s affiliation with the college, noting Montreat College’s “outstanding commitment to higher education.”
