Come see what student life at Montreat College is all about! Visit with students, get a tour of campus, enjoy great worship and praise, and experience first hand what makes Montreat such a unique place for your college education. Admissions staff and students are on hand to answer all your questions and help you make the best decision for you about your college, and show you what Montreat has to offer

Schedule for Friday, April 11, 2008

  • 9:30 am - Belk Campus Center, parking available at Anderson Auditorium.
    Early Bird Campus Tours Begin
  • 10:00 am - Belk Campus Center
    Official Registration Begins

    Check-in, grab a quick bite to eat and some juice or a warm cup of coffee, then enjoy a tour of campus.

    Key Introductions/Overview of days activities:
    Learn what fun and informational activities are in store for you today!

  • 12:30 pm - Howerton Dining Hall
    Lunch:  Get a "taste" of college life!

    Academic and Student Life Showcase
    Talk with professors from each of our academic departments.  Representatives from on-campus clubs/organizations will also be on-hand.
  • 2:30 pm - Anderson Auditorium Lobby                                               Refreshments
  • 2:45 pm -  Chapel of the Prodigal
    Prospective Students:                                                               Financial Aid & College Success/Planning Seminars             Accepted & Deposited Students:                                         Wilderness Journey Presentation & Class Advising/Registration

    Overnight Guests: Meet your host/RD Presentation

    Visit the campus store or enjoy a softball game
  • 5:30 pm - Howerton Dining Hall
    Dinner
    Join us for dinner in Howerton Dining Hall and make plans to stay for the evening’s entertainment!!  Visit with current students.
  • 8:00 pm - Upper Anderson Auditorium                                      Guest musician and coffeehouse 

If you're staying overnight, plan to stay up late!  Hang out with students, and see what Montreat life is really all about.

  • 9:00 am - Howerton Dining Hall
    Breakfast
    : Enjoy a full breakfast buffet in Howerton Dining Hall. 
    9:40 am - Organize for Morning Activities
    • 10:00 am - The Manor House, Black Mountain Campus
      Professor Presentation
      Come listen to Montreat Professor and New York Times Best Selling Author, Dr. Bill Forstchen, as he presents an open forum on World War II.
      Outdoor Education/Environmental Studies hike            Enjoy a leisurely stroll on a guided tour of the Black Mountain Campus grounds with experienced outdoor and enviromental experts
    • 10:45 am - Black Mountain Campus
      Challenge Course & Climbing Wall
                                       Check out one of the largest challenge courses in the country and scale our 70 foot climbing wall! You'll be impressed!
      Tour the Manor House                                                             Tour our historic 5 story, 25,000 sq. ft. mansion that is home to our Elementary Education Dept. as well as the Back Country Program.
  • The open house will end around noon.

The Admissions and Financial Aid Staff will be available throughout Open House to answer questions and help prospective students apply to Montreat College.
