CLEP Testing  
CLEP (College-Level Examination Program) tests are standardized exams that allow you to earn college credit by passing subject area exams. CLEP exams are 90-minute, multiple-choice exams offered on the computer and cost approximately $70. To receive CLEP credit at Montreat College, you must pass each exam with the ACE-recommended score or higher and have an official score report sent to Montreat College (the Montreat CLEP code is 5423).

Contact your student services representative for approval before registering for any CLEP exam.

In the Charlotte area, CLEP exams are administered at Central Piedmont Community College and Strayer University. To register for a test, contact:

• Any CLEP exam that duplicates a Montreat course is noted. If students have already taken the equivalent course, do NOT register to take the corresponding exam because you will NOT be given duplicate credit.
• After testing, allow 2-3 weeks to receive the official scores.
• Students MUST wait six (6) full months before repeating an exam!
