Admission Requirements for Master of Arts in Education (K-6)
- Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university.
- Official transcripts from all regionally accredited institutions attended
- Cumulative GPA of 2.7 in undergraduate study
- Minimum score of 1000 on the GRE exam or 34 on the MAT exam
- Evidence that the applicant holds or is eligible to hold an “A” teaching license in NC
- Official documentation of one full year of teaching experience
- Two letters of recommendation from persons qualified to evaluate the applicant’s character, professional expertise, and capacity to complete study at the master’s level
- A professional goals essay that includes the applicant’s goals for enrolling in the program
Graduation Requirements
- Completion of 34 credit hours of course work while maintaining a 3.0 GPA
- Payment of all tuition and fees
- A grade of B or better on a comprehensive oral exam
- A grade of B or better on a capstone project completed during EDU560, the last class in the program
- Completion of degree requirements within 5 years from the start of the program
