A key element in student life at Montreat
College is a vital Christian community. This community grows by
the Bible's message of truth, love, forgiveness, reconciliation,
and recognition of Christ as Lord. The
emphasis is not upon having achieved perfection, but upon
service and growth toward maturity.

From
the Chaplain
I came to Montreat College in 1995 from a small
rural town in New Hampshire. I grew up in the church,
but I never really encountered Jesus until I met him
face to face in college. For many people, college years
create space and time for you to finally make your faith
your own. It is the place where God reminds you that you
cannot live on the faith of your parents, your church or
your culture forever. It is my role to walk beside you
as you answer the questions God will inevitably be
asking you while you are here. In the context of dorm
life you will learn about the struggle and the blessings
of living in community. In outreach to the poor and
displaced you will learn about God’s heart for the
outsider and the alien. In worship you will discover the
pleasure of reflecting the glory of God. In academics
you will allow God to transform your mind and in the
beautiful surroundings of the Blue Ridge Mountains you
will be continually reminded that we serve an incredibly
imaginative Creator. Read
