Volleyball team wins against Tennessee Wesleyan College
The Lady Cavs turned things around on Saturday afternoon to beat Tennessee Wesleyan College in four games, 30-18, 30-26, 22-30, and 30-24. After dropping an earlier conference match on Saturday morning to Covenant College, Head Coach Leslie Gehris was proud of her ladies' decision to turn things around. “The girls really came together and made a team decision to making this game a turning point for our season,” said Gehris. Leading the Lady Cavs’ offense was Rebecca Henderson with 7 aces on the match. She also had 5 kills and 10 digs against the Lady Bulldogs. Lyndsey Wall also had a stand out match as she recorded 41 assists to her season’s stats. Allison Baumgartner, once again, led Montreat’s hitters with 19 kills for the match.
This timely win breaks a three game losing streak for the Lady Cavs and gives them a 1-3 conference record. Montreat’s next conference matchup is scheduled for Tuesday, September 11th against Bluefield College. The game is scheduled to begin at 4:30pm.
