Montreat Athletics adds Coach Katie Duvall to Staff

Athletic Director Jonathan Bennett and Head Volleyball Coach Leslie Gehris are excited to announce the addition of Montreat alum Katie Duvall to the Cavalier coaching staff.

Coach Duvall will serve as the Assistant Volleyball and Assistant Softball Coach.  Duvall was a star athlete for Montreat prior to graduating in December of 2005.

"I am so excited to be back at Montreat doing something that I love.  This was my home for four years and I feel truly blessed for the opportunity to be back in this community," says Katie.

While at Montreat, Duvall was a four year starter for both the volleyball and softball teams.  She was also team captain for three of those years.  A three year All-AAC volleyball player, Duvall also earned All-Region accolades for both sports during her final two years at Montreat.  For those great accomplishments, Duvall was awarded Montreat's highest athlete award in 2004 when she was touted Female Athlete of the Year.  She currently holds the record for most assists in volleyball and while a senior, she also served as a student-coach.

Katie and her husband Phil, another Montreat alum, currently reside in Asheville, NC.  Montreat College is delighted to add such a loyal alum to its present staff.
