Lady Cavs defeat Bluefield College at McAlister, 90-77
Chazaree Wright had a career high 32 points and 15 rebounds as she continues to put her stamp on the AAC. Janel Cox also provided great support as she contributed 16 points and eight assists in their conference win over Bluefield College, 90-77. Cox also managed to have a tremendous night from the free throw line hitting 12-of-13. "It was great to get a home conference win," said Coach Jackson, "it's also great to get up over the five hundred mark. We now sit alone at sixth place in the AAC." The Lady Cavs are now 10-9 overall and 3-5 in conference play.
Montreat managed to hold Bluefield to 9-of-22 from the 3-point line. The Lady Cavs shot 5-of-9 from long range for 56%. Other contributors were Whitney Mace's 16 points, shooting 4-8 from the 3-point line. Whitney Boone was the other double-digit scorer with 14 points and eight rebounds.
The Lady Cavs will continue AAC action as they roll onto the campus of Milligan College this Tuesday, January 22nd. The game is scheduled for 5:30pm, to be followed by the men's game at 7:30pm.
