"Obviously, Chaz is playing great, consistent basketball right now. As a team, as an offense, we continue to find ways to get her involved and put the ball in her hands," says Head Coach Craig Jackson.
“I’m really blessed with this honor. I set goals for myself every game. I want to have ten points and ten rebounds a game, this is how I want to contribute to the team. But I do let the game come to me,” said a humble Wright.
When asked about how other teams direct more defensive pressure her way, Wright said, “I’m not too concerned about the way defenses play against me. The way I see it, if they want to put attention on me, my team mates are in a better position to score, and that’s the most important thing- a team victory, no matter how we get it.”
With over four offensive rebounds per game (ranked 7th in the nation), Wright continues to find a variety of ways to score. Wright and the Lady Cavaliers will continue to raise the bar for Montreat as they enter the bulk of their conference matches. Montreat travels to King College and UVA-Wise this week as they put their 7-7 record on the line.
