HILTON HEAD ISLAND – Hilton Head Christian Academy standout Jarrett Robinson has committed to the Montreat Cavaliers for the 2007-2008 season.
Robinson, a 6-4, 215-pound small forward averaged 14.1 points, 8.9 rebounds, and 1.5 steals per game as a senior. His post season accolades included selection to the All-Area, All-Region, and All-State teams. He was also named MVP of the RET Thomas Memorial Tournament.
Robinson led the Eagles to a 22-8 record and regional championship en route to the State Final Four. He is one of three talented Hilton Head Christian seniors to be offered a college basketball scholarship. He chose Montreat over Methodist University, Lees-McRae, and Greensboro College.
“Jarrett may be the most exciting athlete we are bringing to Montreat,” said assistant coach Jamie Smith. “Even though he’s coming in as a J.V. player, if he works hard, and develops how we think he will, he has the potential to become an impact player at the varsity level.”
“He is explosive and tenacious,” added head coach Bill Robinson. “We were at Hilton Head High watching him play and Coach Smith counted at least 12 dunks…He finished strong every time, on the break and in traffic. Off the court, he’s just as determined. You get the feeling that once this young man sets his mind on something, no one has the ability to stop him.”
