Register for the weekend’s activities, including the 5K Race, and get information about any last-minute schedule changes.

Enjoy a traditional barbeque dinner. The price is $9.50 for adults and $5.00 for children 12 and under.

Second Annual 5K Race 7:45 a.m. at the Black Mountain Campus Soccer Field
Pre-registration is preferred, but you may also register starting at 7:15 a.m. on the day of the race. Register online or call Coach Snyder at 828-669-8012 ext. 3425. Cost is $15. Faculty, staff, and students receive a $5 discount. T-shirts are provided for participants.

Faith & Learning Forum: Forming a Christian Worldview 9:30 - 10:25 a.m. in the McGowan Center located on the lower floor of Chapel of the Prodigal, Classroom 117-118
What does Christ-centered faith-integrated learning look like? In the classroom on a daily basis, how does Montreat College prepare students to engage with the world? Join Provost Marshall Flowers and a faculty panel for this informative, interactive experience. All parents and family members of Montreat College students are invited.

Fun Fall Activities

 

 

9:30 a.m. - 5 p.m. on Gaither Lawn

Face-painting, inflatable fun, and carnival food will be available throughout the day for all ages on Gaither lawn of Montreat’s main campus.

Climbing Wall, Nature Hike & Rock-Hopping 9:30 a.m. - 12 p.m. in Davis Hall
Outdoor Education staff and students will greet you in Davis Hall to face the challenge of the climbing wall and then lead you outside to experience the beauty of Montreat hiking and rock-hopping on nearby trails. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult, but all are invited. Be sure to wear appropriate shoes for climbing, hiking, and braving mountain streams!

Hymn Sing 10:30 - 11:30 a.m. in the Chapel of the Prodigal
Request your favorite hymn and sing along as a group. We will also have a special recognition of our Heritage Society Members at this time.

Lunch on the Lawn 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. on Gaither Lawn
Please join us for lunch on Gaither Lawn. The cost is $9.50 for adults and $5.00 for children 12 and under. Tents will be available on the Lawn for 5-year reunion classes and affinity groups. Heritage Society Luncheon 11:45 a.m. - 1:30 p.m. in Gaither Fellowship Hall
This special luncheon is for the Class of 1961 and before, by invitation only. After lunch, alumni of the Class of 1961 will be inducted into the Heritage Society. The luncheon cost is $10; a complimentary lunch will be provided for the Class of ’61. RSVP by September 16.

Outdoor Education Alumni Reunion 12 p.m. - 3 p.m. at the Eagle Pavilion on the Black Mountain Campus
Join us for an Outdoor Education, Outdoor Recreation, Discovery, Backcountry, and Wilderness Journey Reunion! We will share memories, enjoy fun activities for the whole family, view a video documenting the department and its students, hear about exciting OE Department happenings, and have lunch together at the Black Mountain campus. Look for your invitation with details and program information. Lunch will be served during this reunion. The cost is $9.50 for adults and $5.00 for children 12 and under. Pay at the event. Dessert with the President & Provost – All parents and family of Montreat College students are invited to join President Dan Struble and Provost Marshall Flowers for dessert during half-time of the Women’s Soccer Game. A tent will be set up at the soccer field.

Classes of ’73 – ’77: Please join us for Dinner Saturday night, October 1, 5:30 – 9:00 p.m. at My Father’s Pizza, 110 Cherry Street in Black Mountain. Come by for a short time or stay for the evening. Please RSVP to Debbie Otwell Elmore (’75) via Facebook or call 336-971-8978, so we will have a number to give them for reservations. 

Class of ’86:  Gaither Lawn Canopy Reservation

OE Alumni Reunion (Outdoor Education, Outdoor Rec, Discovery, Wilderness Journey):

Saturday, noon to 3 p.m.  Lunch at Eagle Pavilion, Black Mountain Campus.  In the event of rain, the Reunion will be moved to the Manor House Gym. The OE Alumni Reunion will happen rain or shine!

1:30 p.m. Climbing Tower Open--No minimum age or weight for children as long as they fit in a harness and helmet.  
·         Sturdy closed-toe shoes with wrap-around heels required (no sandals).

·         Must be 18 or have a legal guardian present to sign the day of.  There is no fee for participation.
