Undergraduate North Carolina Residents of 1 or more years.

You must complete and return the LTG form to possibly receive the North Carolina Legislative Tuition Grant. This form must be filled out every year.
The Legislative Tuition Grant will be applied to your student account towards your tuition costs if you qualify for the grant.
It is for Tuition Only.
If you change your schedule, your eligibility for the grant may change (you must be in class on the required dates and complete the required hours per disbursement before funds will be released). Grant funds will be returned to the state and will not be re-issued to you.
Most SPAS students do not qualfiy for both the Fall and Spring LTG disbursements due to class schedules
You must have ALL of your paperwork (FAFSA, LTG form, and Financial Aid Application) in to the Financial Aid Office by:
- the Fall deadline of 9/22
and/or
- the Spring deadline of 1/22.
If you do not have the paperwork in by the fall deadline, you may qualify for the spring deadline.
In order to possibly qualify for the Fall 2008 LTG disbursement,
you must be in class on
10/1/08.
In order to possibly qualify for the Spring 2009 disbursement,
you must be in class on
01/28/09.
In order to possibly qualify for the Fall 2009 LTG disbursement,
you must be in class on
10/1/09.
In order to possibly qualify for the Spring 2010 disbursement,
you must be in class on
02/02/10.
*** Residency Question #12 must be completed in full if you have lived in North Carolina for less than 2 years. – (a) AND (b) MUST be completed regardless.
*** if you have lived in N.C. for less than 2 years please provide proof that you are a North Carolina Resident with a residency date of 1 year or more (such as a N.C. driver’s license and property taxes)
To Complete the Application:
- Use your Legal Name as it is listed on your social security card
- Address must be a Street Address – NOT A POST OFFICE BOX!
- SPAS students are Full Time
- You are applying for the entire academic year
- Complete the parental information if you are a dependent student
- The form is not valid if all columns in questions #12 are not completed if you have lived in N.C. for less than two years
- Fill out Both Sides of the form
- The form must be Signed.
By accepting the North Carolina Legislative Tuition Grant, you are fully committed to those classes that you enrolled in for the period of your academic year listed on your award letter from the Financial Aid Office. If you test out of a class or transfer in credits for a class you have been awarded for, you may loose some or all of your aid.
LTG will disburse once it is available from the state, but may not yet be earned from the student.
