The major in History offers students broad exposure to an understanding of the human past and of those events and forces leading up to the present and contributing to the future. Undergirding these studies is an integration of faith and philosophy with the cognitive knowledge of historical facts.
Included in the major are a survey of world history and the history of the United States and a serious look at one or more non-Western cultures and their development.
1. Courses require for the general education core, including History 101 and 102 (50 hours).
2. Bachelor of Arts: Successful completion of the intermediate level of French, Greek, Spanish, or other approved language or equivalent (12 hours ) OR
Bachelor of Science: 12 semester hours selected from the following courses: Astronomy, Biology, Business 209, 303, 307, 309 (6 hours maximum), Chemistry, Computer Science 102, 204, Environmental Studies, Mathematics (142 or above), Physics.
NOTE: These courses may not be applied to the general education core, the major, or the minor requirements.
