On Teaching
"Since the subjects that I teach tend to be some of the most challenging for many students, I try to 'get the hay down out of the loft where the cows can get to it.' By that I mean that I strive to find ways to explain and illustrate the material that help the student grasp it so that they can have a genuine Ah Ha! experience. I also want students to appreciate the mathematics that God has built into his creation as well as what that says about our God. 'All truth is God’s truth' and can/should be pursued to his glory."

On Montreat
"Montreat is a special place where students are encouraged to think Christianly about everything that they do. Both in the classroom and out faculty and students wrestle with what it means to be a Christian in the various disciplines. God has revealed himself in his creation and in the scriptures. We in science have the opportunity to study nature for what it can tell us about itself and about its creator."
