Communications and Theatre

Montreat offers a minor in Communication and Theatre Arts including exciting courses in acting, directing, playwriting, ensemble work and more.  Students can also take these courses as electives that will greatly enhance their educational experience.  These courses provide excellent performance training for public speaking, teaching, communicating, or any career that requires presenting yourself effectively in a public setting.

ON CAMPUS PERFORMANCE OPPORTUNITIES

Once a year there is a Montreat College mainstage production that offers performance and technical support opportunities for freshmen on up. In addition each semester there is a showcase of student theatre work. There are staged readings of scenes written by student playwrights. Each acting class and directing class presents a showcase of scenes for the college community that shows the culmination of their semester's work. This provides some exciting experiences of theatre that is written, acted or directed by Montreat students.
