On Teaching
"To encourage the collegiate student's self-initiative and provide a training that is strongly grounded in scientific principles and applied professional experience that integrates with the societal complexities of the field and enables the student to become the autonomous learner, making independent applications and fostering self-initiative while also challenging the development of a student's Christian faith and vocation."

On Montreat
"Montreat provides a fabulous place for the student to be challenged academically and spiritually. This school proudly upholds the nurturing of a student's Christian faith without being dogmatic and also seeks to provide a strong academic training.
"While being a small college that can provide the upper level student contact with faculty and opportunities that parallel a graduate setting for our students, faculty can develop partnerships that enable Montreat to provide facilities and equipment similar to furnishings of a larger university.
"Lastly, Montreat College, tucked in thousands of acres, at the foot of Mt. Mitchell, is in a fabulous, unique place, surrounded with God's glorious gift of a tremendous environmental setting. Give the campus a look."
