OTHER LITERARY INTERESTS:
Other than the classes I teach, my chief literary interest lies in the area of C. S. Lewis studies. I have taught numerous classes on Lewis, both in formal academic settings and in more casual Elderhostel, church retreats, and Sunday school settings. I will be glad to share notes and ideas. During the summer of 2004 I taught a course on Lewis at his home, the Kilns, located just outside Oxford. For more information, click C. S. Lewis Foundation Summer Seminars in Residence 2004.
My book on Lewis' poetry is C. S. Lewis, Poet: The Legacy of His Poetic Impulse (Kent State University Press, 2001). My book on Ruth Pitter, the poet who influenced Lewis quite a bit, is Hunting the Unicorn: A Critical Biography of Ruth Pitter (Kent State UP, 2008).
