The Finance and Administration Office of Montreat College is pleased to announce the following vacancy:
POSITION: Cashier and Finance Office Administrative Assistant
The successful candidate will report to the College’s Revenue Accountant and be responsible for all cash receipts for the college in compliance with the Montreat College cash management guidelines.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Customer service that includes all professional responsibilities associated with the finance office, including front office, phone coverage, and data processing executed as efficiently as possible.
- Prepare and maintain all finance office files and other reports as requested.
- Receipt and file all checks/cash received by the college and input batches into Great Plains and PowerCampus.
- Process credit card transactions, reconcile and post daily.
- Provide department heads and budget supervisors with information as requested.
- Run updated FRx reports each Friday before COB.
- Open and lock the safe each day at morning and COB respectively.
- Attend and prepare minutes for Finance and Administration meetings.
- Create, maintain and post all finance and administration events on the Campus and internal Calendar, upon request.
- Schedule conference rooms for meetings of the Finance and Administration team, upon request.
- Prepare letters and memos for the signature of the V. P. of Finance and Administration as needed.
- Attend and prepare minutes for other VP Committee meetings.
- Train as backup to other Finance and Administration functions as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- The successful candidate will have a basic understanding of double entry bookkeeping, with experience using Great Plains software a plus.
- Be self-directed, innovative, detail-oriented, and able to keep confidences.
- Proficient in personal computer word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications.
- Normally, a bachelor’s degree and fifty-five words per minute keyboard speed are required.
