Job Title:
Financial Aid Information Coordinator for SPAS

Summary:
This person works closely with SPAS Awarding Specialists. This position handles the SPAS paperwork that comes into the office, and enters SPAS info into a database or pulls files for another employee to follow up on submitted documents. This position reports directly to the Director of Financial Aid.

Salary:
Hourly position: $12/hour plus benefits

Duties:
Specific responsibilities will include but are not necessarily limited to the following:

  • Work through mail and faxes each day. All documents should be entered within 24 hours of receipt.
  • Check NSLDS for all students before they are awarded or re-awarded.
  • Answer the phone and be able to direct calls to the proper person or answer general financial aid questions.
  • Enter ISIR corrections for SPAS students.
  • Exits for students who have withdrawn or graduated from the SPAS program.
  • Make sure documentation is complete before giving file to Director for professional judgment.
  • Document tracking for new and returning students.
  • File folders for SPAS students downstairs and upstairs in historicals.
  • Help collect and check in NCLTG forms for SPAS students.
  • In the absence of the Loan Coordinator, this person is responsible for pulling loans, copying disbursements, doing check requests for loans, etc.
  • In the absence of the Loan or Grants Coordinators, this person is responsible for checking that person's voice mails for the day and helping students that day if possible.
  • In the absence of the SAS IC, this person should answer their phone, pull ISIRs each day and handle mail duty.
  • Add acceptance reports on the J Drive.
  • Work the building report and create all SPAS folders.
  • Purge old files and applications in July of each year.
  • Work active files at least every other month.
  • Print and pull files for all change and withdrawal forms and give them to the appropriate person.
  • All other tasks assigned by the Financial Aid Director.
